This is like my first proper blog entry since I moved to the US. A lot of things have happened and I sort of let it passed by without writing them down..hahaha.. I'm not very good at blogging as you might have realized.
Aniways, I'm doing fine here. Schoolwise, I'm catching up, still ok with grades and all.. Social life wise, not very smooth, but still trying. I sort of have up and down emotion ride; sometimes I'm happy, sometimes not..hahaha but I'm generally fine. I'm just still figuring out things.
Every Mondays I have a fully packed classes which suck to the core. Man, Mondays are already bad enough without 5 back to back classes. I have the earliest class possible which starts at 8 am and my day ends at 6 pm. It's because of the 4 hours organic chem lab; from 2 to 6 pm. My roomie's boyfriend who have taken that class said that it is a "kelas kentut", which basically means that it sucks. It's only 1 credit hour and every week I'd have 2 lab reports to hand up and they'd eat up my whole Sunday.
But I'm lucky that I have a relatively "nice" teaching assistant. He's a masters student and what he does is just walk around, making jokes, trying to answer questions which mostly ends up with him saying "I don't know". He's a nice guy really, and he does give high grades because as he puts it "I grade your reports faster and faster and thus your results are getting better and better". He's a funny guy and he apparently does not really care bout this whole lab thing..which sometimes turns out to be an advantage to us..just take the grading thing for example.
Here are some of his lines that I remember:
1. The whole point of this lab is not about getting results, it's about wasting your time!
2. Well I haven't done marking your reports. If you want you can email Fjetland (the professor) about this, but you'd probably don't want to because I'm grading your reports.
3. This lab stinks (it really was!!!). I don't want to be here... (and then he thinks).. Well that's a general comment..but really this lab stinks..
4. You don't need to do the halide tests. We have machines for that, nobody's doing that kind of test anymore. But... I can't block your intellectual curiosity so if you really want to then you can do it. (Obviously no one did and everyone left at 3.30).
5. Please write your observations in the report. Just write anything. If nothing happens, just say you broke a glassware or something.
6. Fu*k, the printer's jammed again.
7. Yay!! Only 2 more labs to go!!
Haha..I'm glad too that this lab is almost over.. Gotta go to sleep right now..Must be ready to wake up early for morning class tomorrow... and study for test on Wednesday and Thursday.. Only two more tests before Thanksgiving...Yaaaay!!
